The sand falls sadly short, spattering on the shore and grass with a faint paff of wet grit. Machi neither moves nor reacts, standing and facing Toothless with an expression that is as dispassionate as it is disinterested; he acts for all the world like he doesn't even know it happened.
But of course, he does, and he... well, actually, he's a little bit alarmed.
Pathetic as that was--and that was pretty pathetic, Toothless--he's reminded briefly of the crazy people who live and starve and die on the streets of Borginia--the ones who think things are other things, or that things are or aren't where they aren't or are.
This could be bad.
Or it could just be really annoying.
Rather than turning tail and running (which would give up his act and also invite pursuit), he chooses to stand his ground, stoic expression flat and unmoving--he doesn't look very impressed.]
